Immunotherapy

During your initial office visit, your doctor will carefully review both your personal and family health history, along with your current symptoms. In order to confirm your doctor’s initial diagnosis, further allergy testing may be scheduled.

When avoidance of allergens and over-the-counter or prescription medications do not successfully control your allergy symptoms, your physician at Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeons of Western New England may suggest pursuing immunotherapy.

We offer immunotherapy in two very different but effective forms – shots and drops. Through either shots (injection therapy) or drops (sublingual immunotherapy or SLIT), your doctor can change your response to the allergen or allergens that are causing you problems. Both shots and drops work by desensitizing the patient to the allergens in question.
