CORONAVIRUS MASK POLICY

*** Cloth masks, masks with valves, and gator masks are not allowed in our office at this time ***

As we implement our mandatory mask policy, we require that everyone entering our office wear a facemask that is effective at stopping the spread of the coronavirus. Masks that have valves in them allow the wearer to exhale unfiltered air and do not prevent the wearer from spreading the virus. Cloth masks and gator masks have similar risks to others.

To all our valued patients:

We hope you and your families are doing well during these unprecedented times. We would like to thank the first responders, nurses, physicians and all involved on the front lines for their dedication and efforts during this pandemic. To those members of our community and their families who have been impacted by the virus, we want to express our deepest empathy and concern. We, too, at ENT Surgeons have friends and family who have been affected by Covid 19 and understand the need to work together and support one another at this difficult time.

Ear, Nose & Throat Surgeons of Western New England has been providing care to the Pioneer Valley for over 50 years and, although the obstacles we now face are certainly unique, we are here to serve our community. As the largest provider of adult and pediatric hearing, sinus/allergy, voice disorders and head and neck cancer care for Western MA, we have been forced to make many adjustments to our workforce and daily office operations. Despite the challenges created due to staff reductions, our remaining staff and physicians are committed to delivering the highest level of care possible in this environment.

At the present time, we are seeing patients in our Springfield and Northampton offices. If you believe you are in need of an appointment, please contact our office at 413-732-7426. Our staff will work with you to triage your issues and concerns, and book your appointment at the approppriate office site. For all of our visits in the office, we are practicing social distancing and attempting to screen Covid symptoms with everyone who comes into our office. Unfortunately, we will not be able to see anyone with history of recent overseas travel, fever, cough, sore throat or flu like illness. Anyone with a positive Covid test in the past two weeks will not be seen.

Fortunately, we have been very successful in implementing telemedicine using video and telephone technology to treat many conditions. To assist with physical distancing during this pandemic, most insurers are waiving co-pays and co-insurances for telehealth visits. We are able to screen new patients for conditions that require an in-person evaluation, while beginning new treatments, alleviating your concerns, or scheduling appropriate diagnostic tests. For our established patients, we can address new problemsreview current treatment plans or test results, and discuss change in symptoms or medication issues.

Issues like management of sinus and allergy disorders, headache, asthma, snoring and sleep apnea, chronic tonsillitis, vertigo, and head and neck masses can all be addressed via telemedicine to avoid a delay in treatment.

We are even able to make remote programming adjustments for certain hearing aids fitted through our office. It's as easy as downloading an app on your smartphone and accepting our invite. Your audiologist will be visible on screen for live support and can upload your new settings into your hearing aids while you are in the comfort of your own home! Call for more details.

To schedule a telehealth visit please call us at 413-732-7426 or email us at [email protected]

Thank you for your patience and understanding during this difficult time.

To your health,

The physicians and staff of Ear, Nose & Throat Surgeons of Western New England, LLC
