- Rest your voice as much as possible. Do not try to whisper or shout.
- Drink 8-10 glasses of water per day.
- Avoid caffeine containing foods/beverages (ie., coffee, tea, cola, chocolate, etc.).
- Avoid alcohol and tobacco.
- Avoid any antihistamines or decongestants, unless prescribed by your doctor.
- Drink water instead of trying to clear your throat.
- If instructed by your doctor, follow all gastroesophageal reflux precautions.
